Activity Wednesday!

August 15, 2012 by geof@giosgarden.org

Starting today we are going to have Activity Wednesday where we will highlight an activity that we did at Gio’s Garden. Each week you will see anew activity that you can do at home. Hope you enjoy.

Coffee Filter Fish

Last week was Under the Sea week at Gio’s Garden and we made some very colorful fish. This is a very easy project to do at home and the kids love it!

Supplies needed:

  • coffee filters
  • markers
  • spray water bottle with water
  • paper, newspaper, paper towel, etc
  1. Put down newspaper, paper towel, or construction paper to protect your table.
  2. Color the coffee filter with markers. Fill up the coffee filter as much as you want with as many colors as you want.
  3. Once you have the coffee filter colored, spray with the water bottle so the coffee filter is damp. The colors will start to run together (make sure it is on newspaper or paper towels, as the colors will run right onto your table).
  4. Let it dry (wait about an hour or use a hair dryer).
  5. Once it is dried, cut out a fish and draw on eyes, a mouth, fins, etc.
